Prairie Hockey League
The Prairie Hockey League ( PRHL or PHL ) was a North American Hockey - Minor League , which existed from 1926 to 1928.
history
The Prairie Hockey League was founded in 1926 by four teams from the Major League Western Hockey League , which was dissolved in the same year . The teams from Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Saskatoon hoped to be able to continue playing in a minor league in the long term . Only the Moose Jaw Warriors were re-established specifically for the game of the Prairie Hockey League. For the second season of the Prairie Hockey League, the league had to be reduced to three participants before it was finally discontinued in 1928. The four former WHL participants Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Saskatoon did not run until the 1932/33 season in the Western Canada Hockey League , which was in the tradition of the original Western Hockey League.
