The Calgary Tigers were a Canadian ice hockey team from Calgary , Alberta . The team played in the Western Canada Hockey League between 1921 and 1936 .

history

The Calgary Tigers was founded in 1921 as a franchise of the first-ever Western Canada Hockey League . In this they played a total of five years until the league was dissolved. In the 1923/24 season , the team won the championship of the WCHL. In this role, the team appeared in the finals of the Stanley Cup , but lost there to the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League with two defeats. In the 1926/27 season , the Tigers competed in the Prairie Hockey League . Then the team was inactive for five years before it was reactivated for the 1932/33 season and moved to the one-time Western Canada Hockey League , whose title they also won straight away. The Tigers last played in the North West Hockey League from 1933 to 1936 , before the team was finally disbanded. In the 1933/34 season they were also champions there.
