The 1923/24 season was the third regular season of the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL). The champions became the Calgary Tigers .

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

In the regular season, the four teams played 30 games each. The two first-placed players then played in a playoff series in a return game, with the team with the better goal difference from both games becoming WCHL champions and making it into the Stanley Cup Challenge. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.

Season course

In the regular season, as in the previous year, the league played in a joint game plan with the teams of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association . While they lost the majority of the games in the previous year, the WCHL teams won 29 of 48 games against the PCHA competition this season. In the playoff series, Calgary prevailed with 4-2 goals against Regina.

Playoffs

Stanley Cup Challenge

In the semi-finals of the Stanley Cup , the Calgary Tigers prevailed against the Vancouver Maroons , champions of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association . In the final, the Tigers met the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League , which they lost in a best-of-three series with 0-2 wins.
