The Saskatoon Sheiks were a Canadian ice hockey team based in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan . The team played between 1921 and 1933 in the Western Canada Hockey League, among others .
history
The franchise was founded in 1921 under the name Saskatoon Crescents as a member of the Western Canada Hockey League , which was held for the first time . Their premier season ended the team in Moose Jaw , Saskatchewan, where they played as Moose Jaw Crescents from February 3. As early as the 1922/23 season , however, they returned to Saskatoon and from 1923 played under the name Saskatoon Sheiks. They played in the WCHL for a total of five years until the league was dissolved. From 1926 to 1928, the Sheiks competed in the Prairie Hockey League . The team was then inactive for four years before it was reactivated for the 1932/33 season as Saskatoon Crescents and moved to the one-time Western Canada Hockey League .
