The Edmonton Eskimos were a Canadian ice hockey team from Edmonton , Alberta . The team played in the Western Canada Hockey League between 1921 and 1936 .

The Edmonton Eskimos was founded in 1921 as a franchise for the first-ever Western Canada Hockey League . In this they played a total of five years until the league was dissolved. In the 1922/23 season they won the WCHL championship. In this role, they appeared in the finals for the Stanley Cup , but lost there in two games against the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League . In the 1926/27 season , the Eskimos competed in the Prairie Hockey League . Then the team was inactive for five years before it was reactivated for the 1932/33 season and moved to the one-time Western Canada Hockey League . The Eskimos last played in the North West Hockey League from 1933 to 1936 , before the team was finally disbanded.
