The 2004/05 season was the 17th regular season of the American ice hockey league ECHL . The 28 teams played 72 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Pensacola Ice Pilots , while the Trenton Titans won their first ever Kelly Cup in the play-offs .
