The 2012/13 season was ECHL's 25th regular season . The 23 teams played 72 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Alaska Aces . The Reading Royals prevailed in the playoff final series against the Stockton Thunder and won the Kelly Cup for the first time .
