The 1990/91 season was the third regular season of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). The eleven teams played 64 games each in the regular season . The best points team of the regular season were the Knoxville Cherokees , while the Hampton Roads Admirals won the Riley Cup for the first time in the play-offs .
