Career

Daniel Gauthier began his career in 1986 in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League , where he played one season with the Longueuil Chevaliers and then spent three seasons with the Victoriaville Tigres . In 1988 the striker was selected in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft , the annual talent drawing of the NHL , by the Pittsburgh Penguins , but he only played five games in the NHL ( 1994/95) for the Chicago Blackhawks , in which he scored and remained unpunished.

In 1990/91 he laced the skates for the Knoxville Cherokees from the ECHL and scored 138 points in 63 games. In the same season he was also for a game with the Albany Choppers from the International Hockey League on the ice and scored a goal. He then stood on the ice for the Lumberjacks for two years , first in Muskegon and, after their relocation, in Cleveland . He then played one season for the Cincinnati Cyclones and two for the Indianapolis Ice , also in the IHL.

Before Gauthier moved to Europe , he went on to play ten games for the Peoria Rivermen and completed a total of ten games for the Frankfurt Lions and Wedemark Scorpions in the 1996/97 season , where he scored two points. He finished the season at VEU Feldkirch in the Austrian ice hockey league , for which he played a total of two and a half seasons in the ÖEL and European Hockey League . He then moved to Switzerland , where he played for SC Langnau for three years before playing again in the ranks of VEU Feldkirch.

In 2004 the Canadian played at HC Asiago in Italy , but returned to the Austrian ice hockey league during the season, where he joined the EC VSV . He also played a game for EC Dornbirn in the National League , but otherwise played for SV Villach until 2008, before he played two seasons in the Canadian Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey for Saguenay . From 2010 to 2012 he was in the squad of VEU Feldkirch. On March 17, 2012, he announced his resignation in a TV interview with ORF .
