Rikke Laumann (born March 29, 1983 in New Zealand ) is a Danish vaulting artist . She has been runner-up in the world and European championships several times, and in 2013 she won her first gold medal at a European championship.

Career

Laumann's rise to the world's elite began in 1997 when she joined the Danish team Silkeborg , with whom she finished 6th at the 1998 World Championships in Rome. When the team broke up immediately afterwards, Laumann concentrated on a career in individual vaulting; She was trained by Johnny Fiskbæk, the then national trainer of the Swedish vaulters and brother of the gold medalist of the men's singles championship in 1994, Thomas Fiskbæk . She bought her first vaulting horse Milano .

After initial successes at international vaulting tournaments ( CVI ) in the spring of 2000, Rikke Laumann moved permanently from New Zealand to Silkeborg in 2001 in order to better devote himself to his vaulting career. This was followed by a series of gold medals at the Danish and Nordic championships, and at the European and World Championships she won two silver medals. Her success streak was interrupted in 2006 by a break due to injury. In the same year she bought a new horse because Milano and Domingoi were getting on in years. Rikke Laumann also trained together with internationally successful vaulters such as Nadia Zülow and Devon Maitozo ; She prepared for the 2010 World Cup with the support of Nicola Ströh and the former formation dancer Michael Gnad.

In 2013, Rikke Laumann reached the high point of her vaulting career so far by winning the gold medal in women's individual vaulting at the European Championships in Ebreichsdorf .
