Devon Maitozo (born July 11, 1975 ) is an American vaulting professional . In 1998 he won the world championship in men's singles at the World Equestrian Games in Rome.

Maitozo also works as a trainer and choreographer in vaulting. He studied drama at the University of California, Santa Cruz and uses his extensive and in-depth acting and dance training successfully in the training of top US teams and individual vaulting. Trained by him, many teams and individual vaulters have won championship titles in the USA.

Team FACE

The team FACE (Free Artists Creative Equestrians), founded by Devon Maitozo in 2000, qualified under his direction through all viewing tournaments for the 2002 World Championships in Jerez and finished 5th there. In 2005, on the occasion of the World Cup in dressage and show jumping in Las Vegas , Maitozo presented the vaulting show he choreographed " Phantom of the Opera " in front of a sold out house. Maitozo also won the 2010 team competition at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky (USA) with the FACE team . With the team FAME (Free Artists Mt Eden), composed of vaulters of the team FACE and Vaulting Club Mt.Eden he won the 2006 competition of the Senior Group at CVI  2 * in Munich and won in the same year the silver medal at the World Championships in Aachen .

Association work

Maitozo is a member of the vaulting committee of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and was a member of the board of the American Vaulting Association (AVA).

Maitozo is also a multiple US champion.

As a team, Maitozo won the silver medal at the 2006 World Cup, the bronze medal in 2008 and the gold medal in 2010.

In the pas de deux , he and Rosalind Ross took second place at the CHIO in Aachen 2012, with the artistic design of their choreography receiving an outstanding rating.
