Concours de Voltige International

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Concours de Voltige International (CVI) is the name of an international vaulting tournament organized by the FEI . The number of CVIs is increasing: in 1999 a total of nine CVIs were held worldwide, in 2009 there were already 22. A distinction is made between:

CVI 1 *

A CVI 1 * is advertised for individual vaulters and vaulting groups in the junior and senior age groups. In the individual vaulting, compulsory and freestyle are tested in one or two rounds. The group competitions take place in two rounds: In the first round compulsory and freestyle are shown, in the second round only the freestyle. The requirements of the junior performance class are also placed on senior groups . Three tournament judges are used.

CVI 2 *

CVI 2 * are only advertised for senior vaulters in the single, double and group vaulting disciplines. In the first round, compulsory and freestyle competitions are tested for individual vaults and groups; double vaulters only show the freestyle. The organization of a second round is optional in double vaulting and, as for groups, consists of a pure freestyle test, individual vaulters complete a technique test in the second round in addition to the freestyle . The tests are assessed by a minimum of three and a maximum of six judges.

CVI Master Class

A Master Class is a CVI that is organized in combination with Concours International from other FEI disciplines. There are competitions for single, double and team vaulters in the senior area. The FEI regulations prescribe the use of three international judges. A special feature of the Master Class is that only freestyle courses are advertised here, one or two rounds depending on the invitation. The mode of the vaulting world cup corresponds to that of a master class.

CVIO

Since 2008, every country has been allowed to host an official CVI ( Concours de Voltige International Officiel ) every year . A Nations' Prize is also awarded here, in which the performances of several vaulters (singles, doubles and groups) from a country are combined in a team ranking. The judging team consists of a minimum of three and a maximum of six judges. So far, three CVIOs have been organized: in Austria ( Stadl-Paura ), France ( Saumur ) and Germany. The German CVIO takes place every year as part of the CHIO Aachen .
