List of winners in vaulting at world and European championships
The list of winners in vaulting at world and European championships contains all winners of the world and European championships in vaulting ( Vaulting Masters ). The first European championships for individual vaulters and groups were held in 1984, the first world championships in 1986. Since then, both championships have been held alternately every two years. The vaulting winners at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) that take place every four years are officially counted as world champions. The European champions in double vaulting ( pas de deux ) have only been determined since 2009, the world champions since 2012. From 2009 to 2011 the European championships for double vaulting took place annually. For the sake of completeness, the only Olympic participation in vaulting (under the name of art riding ) at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp is given .
The most successful vaulters are the Germans Nadia Zülow and Christoph Lensing , who have each been three times world and European champions in the individual competitions. At the 2016 World Championships, Jasmin Lindner drew level: The Austrian won the Pas de Deux title five times in a row with Lukas Wacha , and she also became the women's world champion for the first time in 2016.
With 22 titles, the German vaulting team is the most successful of all times.
