Moreno Costanzo started his career at FC Kirchberg SG. In April 1998 he switched to FC St. Gallen , where he played in all junior categories up to the U21s. At the same time, he was also a member of all junior national teams, where he was regularly used. From September to December 2006 he was loaned to FC Wil 1900 in the Challenge League. In the 2007/08 season he played seven games in the Axpo Super League for St. Gallen. At the end of the season he was relegated to the Challenge League with the club . There Costanzo developed into a regular player in midfield and was particularly noticeable due to his offensive strength, his overview, the accuracy of his passes and his free kick goals. He scored 14 goals in 27 games. For the 2009/10 season he managed to return directly to the top division with St. Gallen. On the 2010/11 season he moved to league rivals BSC Young Boys , where he signed for 4 years. He finished his first season with the Bernese in 3rd place in the championship and reached the sixteenth finals in the Europa League , where they narrowly failed at Zenit Saint Petersburg . For the second half of the 2014/15 season , he was loaned to FC Aarau , where he scored two goals in 14 games. The championship ended in last place and was relegated to the Challenge League. For the new season he was loaned to FC Vaduz for a year , with whom he secured the league on the penultimate matchday. On June 13, 2016, FC Vaduz announced that they would definitely take over Costanzo from BSC Young Boys Bern and gave him a two-year contract. From 2019 to 2020 he played again for FC St. Gallen, where he ended his career.

National team

On August 11, 2010 he made his debut for the Swiss national team . In the game against Austria he was substituted on in the 71st minute and scored the winning goal with his first touch of the ball in the dress of the national team.
