The 2000/01 season was the 13th regular season of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). The 28 teams played 72 games each in the regular season . The best points team of the regular season were the Trenton Titans , while the South Carolina Stingrays won their second Kelly Cup in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Huntington Blizzard stopped playing.
- The Jacksonville Lizard Kings stopped gaming.
- The Hampton Roads Admirals switched to the American Hockey League and played in this from then on under the name Norfolk Admirals .
