Stanislav Sergeyevich Galiev ( Russian Станислав Сергеевич Галиев ; English transcription: Stanislav Sergeyevich Galiev ; born January 17, 1992 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Ak Bars Kazan from the Continental Hockey League since July 2017 and for this the position of the right winger plays.
Career
Galiev began his career in the youth team of HK Dynamo Moscow , where he was active until 2008. For the 2008/09 season he moved to North America and completed a season for the Indiana Ice from the United States Hockey League . He was then selected in the first round at the CHL Import Draft 2009 by the Saint John Sea Dogs from the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ). The offensive player switched to the LHJMQ following the draft and was elected to the LHJMQ All- Rookie Team at the end of the 2009/10 season after scoring 60 points in 67 games . In the 2010 Entry Draft of the National Hockey League (NHL), he was selected in the third round of a total of 86 players by the Washington Capitals .
In the 2010/11 season he won both the Coupe du Président and the 2011 Memorial Cup with the Saint John Sea Dogs . Stanislaw Galijew was the second best point collector of the Sea Dogs in the LHJMQ play-offs 2011. On August 24, 2011, he signed an entry-level contract with Washington Capitals. During the season preparation of the Capitals for the NHL season 2011/12 Galijew injured his wrist and missed the first four months of the LHJMQ season 2011/12 . In the 2012 play-offs, Stanislaw Galijew was the most successful point collector of the LHJMQ and scored 34 points in 17 missions. Saint John won the Coupe du Président for the second year in a row.
In the following season Galiev was active for Washington's farm team Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League and for the Reading Royals in the ECHL . He also spent the 2014/15 season almost exclusively in Hershey, but made his debut in the NHL and scored a goal in two games there. In the course of the following season, the Russian completed a further 24 NHL games, but still failed to make it into the squad of the capital club in the 2016/17 season . Instead, he continued to work for Hershey. After his contract expired at the end of the game year, he returned to Russia in July 2017 and joined Ak Bars Kazan from the Continental Hockey League .
International
Stanislaw Galijew represented his home country with the Russian national team for the first time at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2009 and took second place with his team after a final defeat against the Canadian selection .
