Emil Gabdelnurowitsch Galimow ( Russian Эмиль Габдельнурович Галимов ; born May 9, 1992 in Nizhnekamsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Ak Bars Kazan in the Continental Hockey League since May 2019 .
Career
Emil Galimow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for whose junior team Reaktor Nizhnekamsk he has been active in the multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga since the 2009/10 season . In the 2010/11 season , the attacker also made his debut for the professional team of Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the Continental Hockey League . In his rookie year he scored one goal and one assist in a total of 19 games. In the 2011/12 season he also played for Neftechimik in the KHL and Reaktor in the MHL.
In November 2011, Galimow moved to Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Wysschaja Hockey League , but also played for the Loko junior team in the MHL.
In the NHL Entry Draft 2013 Galimow was selected in the seventh round at a total of 207th position by the San Jose Sharks .
International
For Russia , Galimow took part in the 2010 U18 World Junior Championship . During the tournament he scored two goals and one assist in seven games.
