Steve Munn (born June 15, 1978 in North Battleford , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Sheffield Steelers in the Elite Ice Hockey League since 2010 .
Career
Steve Munn began his career as a hockey player in the team of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute , for which he was active from 1998 to 2002 in the NCAA . The defender then made his professional ice hockey debut for the Elmira Jackals from the United Hockey League towards the end of the 2001/02 season . From 2002 to 2005, the left-shooter was mainly on the ice in the ECHL for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies , Augusta Lynx and Trenton Titans . At the same time, he was used for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League . With the Boardwalk Bullies in the 2002/03 season and the Trenton Titans in the 2004/05 season, he won the Kelly Cup , the ECHL championship.
From 2005 to 2007 Munn played for the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League. He then signed for the first time outside of North America and moved to the Sheffield Steelers , with whom he also spent two years between 2007 and 2009. In both seasons he was British champion with the English . For the 2009/10 season, the Canadian was signed by the newly formed Tohoku Free Blades from Japan , for which he scored three goals and provided nine assists in 27 games in the Asia League Ice Hockey . He then returned to his ex-club in Sheffield for the 2010/11 season.
