Alan Letang (born September 4, 1975 in Renfrew , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player with Croatian citizenship who was active for many years in various European and North American leagues and most recently played for the KHL Medveščak Zagreb . Since 2016 he has been an assistant trainer at Owen Sound Attack .
Career
Alan Letang began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he was active from 1991 to 1995 for the Cornwall Royals , Newmarket Royals and Sarnia Sting . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1993 in the eighth round as a total of 203 players by the Montréal Canadiens , for which he never played. Instead, the defender ran from 1995 to 1997 for their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Fredericton Canadiens . Then he went to the first time Europe , where he in the 1997/98 season at the Kaufbeurer eagles and Augsburger Panther in the German Ice Hockey League said, and SC Langnau in the Swiss National League B was under contract.

In his first year in Zagreb, he was elected to the league's all-star team as a right-back. Since 2013 he has played with the team from the Croatian capital in the Continental Hockey League . International
