Career
Robert Thomas played in his youth for the York Simcoe Express , among others , before he was selected in 2015 in the Priority Selection of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 25th position by the London Knights . Ross Robertson Cup with the Knights at the end of the season . The team also made the subsequent participation in the Memorial Cup 2016 victorious. In his second year in London, the Canadian increased his personal statistics significantly to 66 scorer points from 66 games, so that he was considered in 20th place by the St. Louis Blues in the subsequent NHL Entry Draft 2017 . For now, however, he returned to the OHL for a final season, where he was given by the Knights in January 2018 as part of a larger swap to the Hamilton Bulldogs . With the Bulldogs, the center then won his second J. Ross Robertson Cup, while he led his team with 32 scorer points and was consequently awarded the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as MVP of the playoffs.
Thomas had already signed an entry-level contract with the St. Louis Blues in September 2017 before he earned a place in their squad as part of the preparation for the 2018/19 season. He subsequently made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) in October 2018 . At the end of his first full NHL season, he won the Stanley Cup with the team in the 2019 playoffs .
