Vince Dunn (born October 29, 1996 in Mississauga , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the St. Louis Blues from the National Hockey League since September 2015 . With the team he won the Stanley Cup in the 2019 playoffs .

Career

Vince Dunn was born in Mississauga and raised in Lindsay before joining the Peterborough Petes' junior teams. In 2012 he moved, although he was already selected in the Priority Selection of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) by the Niagara IceDogs , to the Thorold Blackhawks in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League , where he was active for a year. It was not until the 2013/14 season that he made the leap into the IceDogs squad and established himself there as an offensively oriented defender, so he scored 56 points in 68 games in the 2014/15 season and also took part in the CHL Top Prospects Game . Subsequently, Dunn was considered in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in 56th position by the St. Louis Blues , who provided the Canadian with an entry contract in September of the same year . Nevertheless, he initially returned to the OHL for another season and led the IceDogs defenders in points as in the previous year.

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Dunn moved to the organization of the St. Louis Blues, which initially used him in their farm team , the Chicago Wolves , in the American Hockey League . In the Wolves jersey, the Canadian confirmed the offensive performances from previous years, leading all rookie defenders in the league in points (45) in his first professional season . As a result, the defender won a place in the St. Louis Blues squad in preparation for the 2017/18 season and thus made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) in October 2017 .

With the Blues, Dunn won the Stanley Cup in the 2019 playoffs .
