Robert H. "Bobby" Dollas (born January 31, 1965 in Montreal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 693 games for the Winnipeg Jets , Nordiques de Québec , Detroit Red Wings in the course of his active career between 1982 and 2006 , Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , Edmonton Oilers , Pittsburgh Penguins , Calgary Flames , Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks in the National Hockey League on the position of defender . He also played 348 other games in the American Hockey League , where he won the Calder Cup twice in 1985 and 1992 . Dollas celebrated his greatest career success in the jersey of the Canadian national team by winning the gold medal at the 1994 World Cup .

Career

Dollas first played for two years from 1982 to 1984 with the Voisins de Laval in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . In his rookie season he won the Raymond Lagacé trophy for defensively best newcomer. In the following year, the Voisins won the Coupe du Président , the championship of the LHJMQ, with an outstanding Mario Lemieux in their ranks .

After the Winnipeg Jets had selected the defender in the first round in 14th position of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft , Dollas played his first NHL game at the end of the 1983/84 season . In the season 1984/85 a further nine were added. For the game year 1985/86 the Canadian finally made the leap into the professional camp and played in Winnipeg until December 1987. This was followed by a move to Nordiques de Québec and Detroit Red Wings , before he was selected in the 1993 NHL Expansion Draft by the newly formed Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . The Ducks were the first team, in which Dollas able to establish itself in the NHL squad in the long term and not in the minor league - farm team had to run up. He finally stayed until the 1997/98 season on California's west coast and was instrumental in reaching the playoffs for the first time. During this time he also completed his best NHL year with 30 points in 82 games. As a result, Dollas ran for the Edmonton Oilers , Pittsburgh Penguins , Calgary Flames , Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks . After returning to the Pittsburgh Penguins at the end of the 2000/01 season , he ended his NHL career and played in various lower-class North American minor leagues until 2006.

International

Dollas took part with the Canadian national team in the Junior World Championship 1985 and the World Championship in 1994 . He was able to win the gold medal both times and was also appointed to the all-star team of the tournament in 1985 .
