history

The franchise of the Mission de Joliette in the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League was founded in 2002 by Joliette relocated to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and renamed the Mission de Saint-Jean. In the QSPHL, the team showed a positive balance in each of the two years of its existence. In their premiere season, the Mission de Saint-Jean failed in the semifinals of the playoffs for the Coupe Futura to the Chiefs de Laval after they had finished fourth in the Est division in the regular season. In the following season, the team improved to second place in the Ouest division, but was eliminated again in the playoff semifinals, this time against the Dragons de Verdun , where they failed in the best-of-seven series with 2-4 wins.

Following the 2003/04 season, the franchise was relocated to Sorel-Tracy , where it then took part in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey game operations under the name Mission de Sorel-Tracy . The QSPHL changed its name in the summer of 2004 due to the increasing professionalization of its participants.
