The Dragons de Verdun ( English Verdun Dragons ) were a Canadian ice hockey team from Verdun , Québec . The team played from 2001 to 2006 in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
history
The franchise of the Dragons de Saint-Laurent in the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League was founded in 2001 by Saint-Laurent , a suburb of Montreal , Verdun, another suburb of Montreal, relocated and renamed the Verdun Dragons. In the five years of its existence, the team reached the playoffs for the Coupe Futura , which they could win for the first and only time in the 2003/04 season. The team had previously been eliminated twice in the semi-finals and then twice in the quarter-finals.
Following the 2005/06 season, the franchise was dissolved for financial reasons.
