The Prédateurs de Granby ( English Granby Predateurs ) were a Canadian ice hockey team from Granby , Québec . The team played in the Québec Semi-Pro Hockey League from 1997 to 2004 .
history
The franchise of Waterloo 94 from the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League was relocated to Granby in 1997 and renamed Lightning de Granby. The club filled the void created by the relocation of the Prédateurs de Granby from the Canadian junior league QMJHL in the city. After the team finished the regular season in second place in their first two seasons, they always finished fifth or sixth in the following five years. The team was able to qualify for the playoffs for the Coupe Futura three times , but failed in the first round in 2000, 2002 and 2003.
From 2002 to 2004, the team played under the name Prédateurs de Granby based on the QMJHL team that they had replaced when they were founded. When the league was renamed Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey in 2004 due to the increasing professionalism of its participants, the team stopped playing.
