history

The franchise of Voyageurs de Vanier from the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League was founded in 1997 by Vanier moved to Quebec City and Quebec Aces renamed. The model for the naming was the franchise of the same name , which played in the American Hockey League from 1959 to 1971 . The team finished the 1997/98 season with 33 points from 38 games in fourth place in the Est division. For the following season, the team was excluded from the Québec Semi-Pro Hockey League due to a violation of the league rules by the league management. Before the 1999/2000 season, the franchise was relocated to Beaupré , Québec, where it then took part in the Québec Semi-Pro Hockey League under the name Caron & Guay de Beaupré and As de Beaupré.

From 2001 to 2003, the As de Québec returned to the LHSPQ before the franchise was sold and renamed Radio X de Québec .
