Daniel Marois (born October 3, 1968 in Montréal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 350 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs , New York Islanders , Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars in the course of his active career between 1984 and 2005 National Hockey League on the position of the right winger . In the DEL he was active for Adler Mannheim .
Career
The 1.86 m tall winger began his career with various teams in the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft as 28th in the second round of the Toronto Maple Leafs .
First, the right-shooter was used with the Newmarket Saints , a farm team of the Maple Leafs, in the American Hockey League , his first NHL games, he played in the play-offs in 1988 . In the following years, Marois was a permanent member of the Maple Leafs, but was then transferred to the New York Islanders during the 1991/92 season . There he could never really gain a foothold, just as little as with his two other NHL stations, the Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars .
In 1997 the right wing moved to the Swiss National League A to SC Bern , with whom he was able to become Swiss champions straight away . For the following season he left the team in the direction of Adler Mannheim (Germany), but after three months the Canadian returned to Bern because he could not call up his usual performance with the reigning German champions . Further stations up to Marois' end of career in 2005 were Ilves Tampere from the Finnish SM-liiga , the HC Bozen from the Italian Serie A , the Swiss clubs Lausanne HC , HC Ambrì-Piotta , SC Rapperswil-Jona and SC Langenthal as well as the North American franchises Saint John Flames and Dragons de Verdun .
International
For the Canadian national team , Daniel Marois completed a game at the 2001 Ice Hockey World Championship and scored an assist .
