Garth Butcher (born January 8, 1963 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Vancouver Canucks , St. Louis Blues , Québec Nordiques and Toronto Maple Leafs from 1981 to 1995 .

Career

Garth Butcher began his career as a hockey player with the Regina Blues, for which he played in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in the 1979/80 season. He then worked for the Regina Pats from the Western Hockey League until 1982 . During this time he was selected in the first round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft as the tenth overall player by the Vancouver Canucks . After Butcher initially continued to play in the 1981-82 season for the Pats, he was also his debut in the National Hockey League for Vancouver, for which he played for ten years before he March 5, 1991 at the St. Louis Blues transferred for which he was on the ice for three years until he was given to the Québec Nordiques in January 1994 . At the end of the season, however, these butchers let go again and gave him to the Toronto Maple Leafs , with whom he ended his career after the 1994/95 season.

International

With the Canadian national team , Garth Butcher won the gold medal at the Junior World Championship in 1982 . He also took part in the A-World Championship in 1992 .
