Kenndal McArdle (born January 4, 1987 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who was active in the National Hockey League for the Florida Panthers and the Winnipeg Jets .
Career
Kenndal McArdle began his career as a hockey player with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League , for which he was active from autumn 2003 to November 2007. During this time he was selected in the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft as the 20th player of the Florida Panthers . The 2006/07 WHL season ended McArdle after a transfer with the Vancouver Giants , with whom he won the Memorial Cup at the end of the season .
Before the 2007-08 season , the Rochester Americans , Florida's farm team from the American Hockey League , added the attacker to their roster. In his first season in professional ice hockey, the Canadian scored ten points in 36 games, including five goals. On December 2, 2008, McArdle made his debut in the National Hockey League when he was used for the Panthers against the Washington Capitals .
On July 9, 2011, the Florida Panthers transferred him in exchange for Angelo Esposito to the Winnipeg Jets , for which he completed nine NHL games. He spent the remainder of the 2011/12 season with the St. John's IceCaps and Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League . He spent the 2012/13 season with the Greenville Road Warriors in the ECHL and with the Rockford IceHogs from the AHL, before moving to Sweden to VIK Västerås HK in May 2013 , where he completed the entire 2013/14 season. After switching to the Malmö Redhawks in June 2014 , he ended his active career just under a month later after he had found a permanent job at a bank in Vancouver .
International
For the Canadian U20 national team , McArdle took part in the 2007 Junior World Cup, where he won the gold medal with the team.
