Career
Guillaume Latendresse began his career as a hockey player with the Drummondville Voltigeurs , for which he was active from 2003 to 2006 in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2005 in the second round as the 45th player of the Montreal Canadiens .
For the Canadiens, he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2006/07 season and played regularly for them until the 2008/09 season . On November 23, 2009 he was transferred to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Benoît Pouliot . With the Wild he immediately earned himself a regular place and by the end of the 2009/10 season he scored 25 goals in 55 games, made 12 assists and collected 37 points.
In early July 2012, Latendresse signed a one-year contract with the Ottawa Senators as a free agent . After participating in the Phoenix Coyotes training camp , but not being able to sign a contract there, he switched to the ZSC Lions in early October 2013 , where he signed a contract until the end of the 2013/14 season, which was terminated at the end of 2013. As a result of the large number of injuries during his career and the concussion he suffered in October 2013, which led to his contract termination in Zurich, Latendresse decided to end his active career.
In April 2014 it was announced that the Canadian will coach the Riverains du Collège Charles-Lemoyne in the junior league Ligue de hockey midget AAA from the 2014/15 season .
