Hermann Gaus

Hermann Gaus (* 1936 in Leutkirch , Upper Swabia) is a German engineer. He is known as the "creator of the new Maybach".

Life

Gaus was responsible for the new S-Class (W220) at DaimlerChrysler AG as Head of Overall Development. In 1998 Jürgen Hubbert was able to win him over as head of the “Maybach” project and chief developer of the Maybach 57 and 62 , which he developed in just 36 months.

In 2002 he was awarded the Benz-Daimler-Maybach Medal of the VDI Society for Vehicle and Traffic Technology.
