Brodie Frank Mooy (born June 19, 1990 in Ermington , Sydney ) is an Australian football player .
Career
Mooy was identified as a footballing talent early on and received scholarships from Westfields Sports High School and the New South Wales Institute of Sport . At club level, he was active in the youth field at Northern Spirit and Manly United , among others . In 2008 he was the top scorer in the junior division Grade 20 of the New South Wales Premier League (NSWPL) as a player in the Marconi Stallions and also won the championship with the team. With his performances, the striker also made a name for himself nationally and received a contract for the youth team of the Newcastle United Jets in mid-2008 . After the loss of five offensive forces in the professional squad of the Jets, Mooy moved up in early January 2009. He made his A-League debut alongside Joel Griffiths in the Jets' starting line-up on January 9 against Adelaide United and was also used from the start on the following two matchdays. After the end of the season, Mooy agreed with Manly United to return to the NSWPL, but his performance with the Jets ensured that they offered him a contract for the upcoming AFC Champions League 2009 .
In the Champions League, he came, mostly as a substitute, in all six group games and qualified with the Jets for the round of 16, in which the Korean club Pohang Steelers proved to be too strong (final score 0: 6). In the following two seasons, 2009/10 and 2010/11 Mooy belonged to continue the squad the Jets, but came only in September 2010, again to three appearances in the A-League after coach Branko Culina to full-back had been retrained, and was otherwise active for the youth team in the National Youth League . After the 2010/11 season, his affiliation with the Newcastle Jets ended and Mooy joined the Parramatta Eagles in the New South Wales Premier League . There he had a mixed debut in April 2011 and his track is lost afterwards. A last football report comes from September 2011, when he completed a test training with the English fourth division club Crewe Alexandra .
Like his cousin Aaron Mooy , Brodie Mooy was part of the Australian U-17 squad for qualifying for the 2006 U-17 Asian Cup in February 2006 . These were the historically first competitive games of an Australian selection after the association change to the Asian Football Confederation . The Australian team failed to qualify for the finals after a draw against hosts Laos and a narrow win against Indonesia. In March 2009 he was also invited to a training camp for the Australian U-20 team, which served as preparation for the 2009 Junior World Cup in Egypt in September, but did not make it into the World Cup squad.
