course

The Holsterbach rises in Hesse , about 2 km southeast of Wettesingen (municipality of Breuna ) on the northern roof of the Malsburg Forest and initially flows, passing the named place, in a north-west direction towards the border to North Rhine-Westphalia, where it joins the one coming from the left Bach from the key reason flows together.

The source of the stream from the Schlüsselgrund, which is significantly longer and also richer in water, is located on the northwestern edge of the Malsburg Forest, about 2 km east of Breuna. From there, the stream runs to the mouth in a north-west direction and first passes the key base on the south- west edge of the adjoining Breuna Forest .

In the lower reaches of the Calenberger Bach, running in a northerly direction, passes the eponymous Warburg district of Calenberg to flow into the Diemel immediately east of the city center .
