Jeffrey Scott "Jeff" Beukeboom (born March 28, 1965 in Ajax , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and coach as well as current scout , who played 903 games for the Edmonton Oilers and New in the course of his active career between 1985 and 1999 York Rangers has played in the National Hockey League on the position of defender . During his 13 seasons in the NHL, Beukeboom won the Stanley Cup four times - three times with the Edmonton Oilers in 1987 , 1988 and 1990 and with the New York Rangers in 1994 .
Career
Jeff Beukeboom began his career as a hockey player with the Newmarket Flyers , for which he played in the 1981/82 season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League . He then stood for Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Ontario Hockey League on the ice. During this time, the defender was selected in the first round in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 19th player by the Edmonton Oilers . Beukeboom made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Oilers in the playoffs of the 1985/86 season . In 1987, 1988 and 1990 the defender and the Oilers managed to win the prestigious Stanley Cup three times in four seasons . On November 12, 1991, the Canadian was given in exchange for David Shaw to the New York Rangers , with whom he won the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in his career in 1994. Due to numerous concussions , the Canadian officially ended his career in February 1999.
After the end of his career as a player, the Canadian worked in the 2003/04 season as assistant coach for the Toronto Roadrunners in the American Hockey League . Other positions in the same function were the Barrie Colts and Sudbury Wolves from the Ontario Hockey League from 2008 to 2012 , before the Canadian was hired by the Connecticut Whale - again as an assistant coach - for the 2012/13 season . After the team was renamed to Hartford Wolf Pack , he was active there for three more seasons until the summer of 2016, before he was promoted to assistant coach of the New York Rangers. He has been a scout there since summer 2017 .

For Canada , Jeff Beukeboom took part in the 1985 World Junior Championship , where he and his team became world champions.
