Cameron Mann (born April 20, 1977 in Thompson , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL since 2009 . Earlier club stations included the Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators from the National Hockey League . His greatest successes were winning the Calder Cup with the Providence Bruins in 1999 and winning the German Ice Hockey Cup with the ERC Ingolstadt in 2005 .
Career
Man began his career in 1993 in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League with the Peterborough Petes , where the winger was part of the regular squad in his first season and was able to achieve 27 points scorer in 56 games. In the following years, the Canadian managed to steadily increase his points yield. His best season was the 1995/96 game year when he scored 145 points in the 90 games in which he was used. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1995 , those responsible for the Boston Bruins decided on the right-shooter and selected him in the fourth round at a total of 99th position.
Mann then stayed two more seasons in the OHL before moving to the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League in the summer of 1997 . However, the Bruins often put the attacker on their farm team , the Providence Bruins from the American Hockey League , so that in his first NHL season he only made nine appearances in the highest North American professional league. Instead, man completed 79 AHL games and scored 47 scorer points. During the 1998/99 season, the Canadian was able to win the Calder Cup , the championship of the American Hockey League, with the Providence Bruins . Man played a major role in this success, so for the first time he scored more when he played games.
The Manitoba-born man was under contract with the Bruins until 2001 and then moved to the Utah Grizzlies in the AHL. There the striker only stayed one season and in the summer of 2002 accepted a contract offer from the Nashville Predators. The management of the Predators, however, like the Boston Bruins before, often only used him in the AHL with their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals . After his contract expired in 2003, Mann decided to move to Europe, where ERC Ingolstadt from the German Ice Hockey League became aware of the then 26-year-old and transferred him to Germany. At the ERC, Mann was immediately one of the top performers and top scorers within the team.
He was also nominated by fans and journalists for the DEL All-Star Game 2004 in Ingolstadt. There the attacker ran for the "DEL All-Star Team" and scored the assist to the interim 2-2 equalization. The attacker celebrated his greatest success with the Panthers in 2005 when he won the German Ice Hockey Cup with the ERC . Furthermore, the Canadian reached the semifinals of the DEL playoffs in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons.
At the end of the 2006/07 season , his contract in Ingolstadt was not extended and man joined the Finnish first division club Tampereen Ilves , who provided him with a one-year contract, which was also not extended in the end. In Finland, the attacker was used in 43 games and scored 21 points scorer. In the following years, the native Canadian stayed without a club for a long time before the Füchse Duisburg signed him and handed him over to the cooperation partner, the Herner EV 2007 from the Oberliga .
The EVD was given the option to appoint Cameron Mann to the DEL team at any time. This finally happened in December 2008, when those responsible had his contract with Herner EV terminated with immediate effect and the striker went on the ice in the German ice hockey league from then on. After the Duisburg had to file for bankruptcy in the summer of 2009 , he joined the Nottingham Panthers.
