Dillon Dubé (born July 20, 1998 in Golden , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League since March 2017 and for their farm team, the Stockton Heat , in the American Hockey League is used.

Career

In his youth, Dillon Dubé played for the Notre Dame Hounds and the Notre Dame Argos in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan . In the Bantam Draft of the Western Hockey League (WHL) he was selected in 2013 in 21st position by the Kelowna Rockets and made his debut for the team in the 2014 playoffs. With the start of the 2014/15 season, the attacker ran regularly for the Rockets in the WHL, the highest-ranking junior league in the region, and promptly won the playoffs for the Ed Chynoweth Cup with the team at the end of his rookie playing year . For the 2015/16 season he increased his personal statistic significantly to 66 scorer points from 65 games and took part in the CHL Top Prospects Game , so that he was considered 56th in the NHL Entry Draft 2016 by the Calgary Flames . After another year in Kelowna, the Canadian signed an entry contract with the Flames in March 2017 and made his professional debut in the American Hockey League (AHL) with their farm team , the Stockton Heat .

Subsequently, Dubé returned to Kelowna for a final season, in which he recorded 84 points in 53 games and as a result was elected to the WHL West Second All-Star Team . After completing another six AHL appearances for Stockton, he earned a place in the Flames squad as part of the preparation for the 2018/19 season, so that he made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) in October 2018 .

International

Dubé gained his first experience at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2015 and won the gold medal there with the Canadian U18 team. The attacker then represented the U20 national team of his home country at the U20 World Cup in 2017 , whereby the team failed in the final after the shootout to the United States and thus received the silver medal. In the following year , however , Dubé led Team Canada as captain to the U20 world championship.
