Andrew Mangiapane (born April 4, 1996 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League since March 2016 and plays there in the position of left winger .

Career

Andrew Mangiapane was born in Toronto and grew up in Bolton . In his youth he played for the Mississauga Senators and the Toronto Jr. Canadiens , before he moved to the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the highest-ranking junior league in his home province, in the 2013/14 season . In his debut season, the winger recorded 51 points in 63 games and was consequently elected to the OHL First All- Rookie Team . He then increased his personal statistics significantly, reaching the 100 point mark twice in a row, placing himself among the ten best scorers in the league. Accordingly, the elected him Calgary Flames in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft at the 166th position, while the following year OHL Second All-Star team was appointed.

The Flames equipped Mangiapane with an entry-level contract in March 2016 and then used it on their farm team in the American Hockey League (AHL), the Stockton Heat . He also established himself as a regular scorer in Stockton and was invited to the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic . In addition, the attacker was appointed to the Flames' squad for the first time in December 2018 and subsequently made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) in December 2018 . There he played ten games until the end of the season, before he has been playing regularly between the AHL and NHL since the beginning of the 2018/19 season.
