David A. Harlock (born March 16, 1971 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs , Washington Capitals , New York Islanders and Atlanta Thrashers in the National from 1989 to 2003 Hockey League played.
Career
David Harlock began his career as a hockey player at the University of Michigan , which he attended from 1989 to 1993, while he also played for their ice hockey team in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1990 in the second round as a total of 24th player by the New Jersey Devils , for which he never played. Instead, the defender ran from 1993 to 1996 for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League , in which, however, he could never quite prevail. However , he spent most of his time in the franchise with Toronto's St. John's Maple Leafs farm team in the American Hockey League . In the 1996/97 season he was on the ice for the San Antonio Dragons in the International Hockey League . The following season he was signed by the Washington Capitals , for which he only played six games in the NHL. He spent the entire rest of the season with their AHL farm team Portland Pirates .
In the 1998/99 season Harlock played for the New York Islanders , for which he scored two goals and six assists in his first full NHL season in 70 games. In the 1999 NHL Expansion Draft , he was selected by the newly formed Atlanta Thrashers . He was also a regular with the Thrashers in his first two years before playing for Atlanta's AHL farm team Chicago Wolves in the 2001/02 season . In March 2002 he was given from Atlanta to the Philadelphia Flyers , but played in the following one and a quarter years only for their AHL farm team Philadelphia Phantoms .
International
For Canada , Harlock took part in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , where he won the silver medal with his team.
