Arūnas Štaras

Arūnas Štaras (born July 2, 1951 in Žagarė , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian mathematician and politician.

biography

After graduating from the 1st Panevėžys Middle School in 1969, he studied mathematics with distinction from 1969 to 1974 at the Vilniaus universitetas and from 1974 to 1977 an apprenticeship at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at Moscow University , where he received his doctorate in 1978. From 1984 he was a lecturer at VU.

From 1991 to 1993 he was mayor of Vilnius , 2007 deputy mayor and since then deputy minister of transport of Lithuania.

From 1995 he was a member of the Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga , from 2003 the Liberalų ir centro sąjunga and since 2006 of the Lietuvos Respublikos liberalų sąjūdis .
