Mark Mancari (born July 11, 1985 in London , Ontario ) is an Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with EHC Freiburg in the DEL2 .

Career

Mark Mancari started his career as a hockey player in 2001 with the Ottawa 67’s . For the team from the Ontario Hockey League he played for a total of four years. During the NHL Entry Draft 2004 , the Italian-Canadian was selected in the seventh round as a total of 207 players by the Buffalo Sabers . In the summer of 2005, Mancari was finally accepted for the first time in the roster of the Rochester Americans , the then farm team of the Sabers. In his first two seasons in professional ice hockey, Mancari was only on the ice for the AHL team. During the 2006–07 season , the winger made his National Hockey League debut , scoring an assist in three games. In the following season he was used exclusively in the AHL and scored 57 scorer points in 80 games, including 21 goals.

For the 2008/09 season Mancari was taken over into the Sabers' new farm team, the Portland Pirates .

On November 21, 2008 Mancari was called to replace Maxim Afinogenow and played against the Philadelphia Flyers on the same day . The following day, November 22, 2008, Mancari scored his first goal in the NHL against the New York Islanders .

On July 1, 2011, he signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks and played six NHL appearances for the Canucks in the 2011/12 season. He also played 69 games for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL . He spent the 2012/13 season with the Rochester Americans (AHL). In July 2013 he signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Blues , but was used in the 2013-14 season on the Chicago Wolves farm team before he moved to another AHL team, the San Antonio Rampage, in exchange for Eric Selleck which he acted until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Mancari spent the 2015/16 season in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) with the Augsburg Panthers . For the 2016/17 season, he switched to DEL competitor Krefeld Pinguine and signed a two-year contract there. After a year in Krefeld, in which he scored 12 goals and 17 assists in 49 DEL games, his current contract was terminated at the end of July 2017.
