Terry J. Hollinger (born February 24, 1971 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who has spent two seasons in the National Hockey League and one in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Terry Hollinger started his career in his hometown Regina , where he played for various junior teams. From the 1987/88 season he was active in the Western Hockey League for the Regina Pats . In 1990 he moved to the Lethbridge Hurricanes . In the 1991 NHL Entry Draft , the St. Louis Blues Hollinger selected in the seventh round in 153rd place. The defender initially stayed in the WHL and completed another season for the Hurricanes.
Before the play-offs in 1992 he made his professional debut with the Peoria Rivermen from the International Hockey League . He was then one of the most important players on the St. Louis Blues farm team for over three years . During this time Hollinger was able to complete a total of seven games in the National Hockey League . In August 1995, the Canadian signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Sabers , but played over two seasons only with the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League . In 1996 he won the Calder Cup and was elected to the All-Star Team . In the summer of 1997, Hollinger returned to the St. Louis Blues organization, playing for the Houston Eros and Worcester IceCats . From 1998 to 2001 he was exclusively active in the IHL. In three years, due to three transfers, he played for four different teams.
For the 2001/02 season Hollinger moved to the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League . There he missed the play-offs and was active for HC Sierre and HC Milano Vipers the next year . In 2003, the defender returned to North America and played two years for the Quad City Mallards in the United Hockey League . Then he ended his career.
