Mark Mowers (born February 16, 1974 in Decatur , Georgia ) is a former American ice hockey player who played for the Nashville Predators , Detroit Red Wings , Boston Bruins and Anaheim Ducks in the National Hockey League as well as for Friborg -Gottéron and SC Bern in the Swiss National League A was active.
Career
Mark Mowers began his career as a hockey player with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, for which he was active in the United States Hockey League in the 1993/94 season . He then played for four years for the University of New Hampshire team , before he got a contract with the Nashville Predators on June 11, 1998 as a free agent . For Nashville, the attacker was on the ice for the next four seasons in the National Hockey League . During this time he ran parallel for their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League , and - after their dissolution in 2001 - in the American Hockey League . In August 2002, the American moved to the Detroit Red Wings , but he played in his first season in their franchise exclusively for their AHL farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins .
Mowers bridged the lockout of the 2004/05 NHL season in Europe , where he was on the ice for the Malmö Redhawks from the Swedish Elitserien and Friborg-Gottéron from the Swiss National League A. After resumption of play in the NHL, the right-shooter returned to Detroit. There he played just one season as well as then with their league rivals the Boston Bruins . The 2007/08 season began Mowers with the Anaheim Ducks , but was signed by SC Bern from the Swiss NLA during the year . Also in the 2008/09 season he stayed in Switzerland, where he ran up for his ex-club Friborg-Gottéron. After the 2010/11 season , the American ended his active career.

For the USA , Mowers took part in the 2002 World Cup, where he finished seventh with his team.
