Angela Chalmers (born September 6, 1963 in Brandon ) is a former Canadian middle and long distance runner .
Life
In 1987 she won the silver medal in the 3,000 meter run at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis . In 1990 she won the Commonwealth Games in Auckland in both the 1,500-meter run and over 3,000 m.
She celebrated the greatest success of her career at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona . Over 3000 m she won the bronze medal in 8: 47.22 minutes behind Jelena Romanowa and Tetjana Dorowskych from the United Team .
At the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria , Chalmers was her country's flag bearer. In the 3000 meter run she managed to defend her title. She won with a clear lead in the Canadian national record time of 8: 32.17 minutes.
In addition, she was a total of five times Canadian champion, four times in the 1500-meter run (1989-1990, 1993-1994) and once in the 3000-meter run (1994).
Angela Chalmers had a competition weight of 56 kg with a height of 1.72 m.
