Steve Passmore (born January 29, 1973 in Thunder Bay , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who played in the National Hockey League for the Edmonton Oilers , the Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings . In the German Ice Hockey League he was active for the Adler Mannheim .
Career
The 1.75 m tall goalie began his career with various teams in the Canadian top junior league WHL , before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft as 196th in the ninth round of the Québec Nordiques .
However, he was never in the NHL for the Nordiques between the posts, as he was previously transferred to the Edmonton Oilers . From the Canadians, the left catcher was first used in various farm teams in the American Hockey League before he was on the ice for the first time for the Oilers in the 1998/99 season . The following season Passmore was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks, for which he completed 73 games in five years. However, the Canadian never advanced to become a goalkeeper in Edmonton, which he was unable to achieve during his time with the Los Angeles Kings, for which he played a few games during the 2000/01 season .
In 2004 Steve Passmore signed a contract with Adler Mannheim, as a back-up goalkeeper for Cristobal Huet , he played 36 games in one season. Further stations until the end of his career after the 2006/07 season were Jokerit Helsinki from the Finnish SM-liiga , the San Antonio Rampage from the AHL, the EC Graz 99ers from the Austrian ice hockey Bundesliga and the HC Milano Vipers from the Italian A1 series .
Passmore is a co-owner of a restaurant chain in Vancouver . One of his business partners is American football player Mitch Berger .
