Ronald Nicholas "Ron" Andruff (born July 10, 1953 in Port Alberni , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player ( Center ) from 1974 to 1982 for the Montréal Canadiens and Colorado Rockies in the National Hockey League and the Mannheim ERC and the Düsseldorfer EG played in the ice hockey Bundesliga .
Career
Ron Andruff was selected as a striker for the Montreal Canadiens in the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft in the second round in 32nd position. In the same year he wanted to commit the Winnipeg Jets , which were then still in a league competing with the National Hockey League , the World Hockey Association . Andruff decided for the NHL, but had to play the first three years in a farm team of the Canadiens with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs in the American Hockey League and was only six times in Montréal during this time. It was only after his move to the Colorado Rockies that he received regular ice age in the NHL and achieved a total of 55 scorer points in 147 missions in three seasons .
In the current 1978/1979 season, he moved to the Philadelphia Firebirds and the New Haven Nighthawks in the AHL before moving to Germany . In Mannheim he had his most successful period and met for the Mannheimer ERC in the seasons 1979/1980 and 1980/1981 in 101 games a total of 77 times in the opponent's goal. He scored a total of 178 points scorer . He was one of the guarantors for winning the German championship in 1980 under coach Heinz Weisenbach . In this championship round, but also in the following season, he was one of the top scorers in the entire league. In the 1981/1982 season he ended his career after a brief stint at DEG .
Andruff was known for his physical play, but also for his fast, precise passes and his nose for goals. As a show, he presented one-armed push - ups in the center circle of the playing area .

Andruff now works as a businessman in New York City and owns his own company.
