Drew MacIntyre (born June 24, 1983 in Charlottetown , Prince Edward Island ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with HKm Zvolen from the Slovakian extra league since January 2018 .

Career

Drew MacIntyre began his career as a hockey player with the Sherbrooke Castors , for which he was active from 1999 to 2003 in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League . During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2001 in the fourth round as a total of 121st player by the Detroit Red Wings , but did not come to any use. Instead, the goalkeeper ran from 2003 to 2006 for their farm team , the Toledo Storm from the ECHL , and from 2004 to 2006 the Grand Rapids Griffins from the American Hockey League . On September 12, 2006, the Red Wings gave MacIntyre to their league rivals, the Vancouver Canucks , for whom he made his debut in the National Hockey League on December 13, 2007 in the game against the San Jose Sharks . In the same season he was also against the Dallas Stars between the posts. The rest of the time in the Canucks franchise, however, he spent with their AHL farm team, the Manitoba Moose .

Drew MacIntyre (2017)

On July 1, 2008 MacIntyre received a free agent contract with the Nashville Predators , but played exclusively for their AHL farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals . On July 4, 2009, the Canadian signed with the NHL club Atlanta Thrashers . These put him in the farm team with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League, before the goalkeeper was given to the Montréal Canadiens in a barter for Brett Festerling at the end of February 2011 shortly before the trade deadline . On July 7, 2011 MacIntyre signed a contract for one year with the Buffalo Sabers and came in the following game year, in addition to two NHL missions, mainly with the Rochester Americans in the AHL for use.

In May 2012 he was signed by HC Lev Prague from the Continental Hockey League and was the club's regular goalkeeper while Tomáš Pöpperle was injured . After Pöpperle recovered and Jakub Štěpánek was signed , MacIntyre was no longer available and left the club at the end of November 2012. MacIntyre came to the Toronto Marlies through the Reading Royals , for whom he spent the rest of the 2012/13 season and the 2013 / 14 stood on the ice. In addition, he also came to two NHL appearances for the Toronto Maple Leafs . In July 2014, the Maple Leafs gave it to the Carolina Hurricanes . In February 2016, MacIntyre was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Dennis Robertson . Two months later, the Hamburg Freezers from the German Ice Hockey League announced the commitment of MacIntyre, who signed a two-year contract with the Hanseatic League, which became void due to the team's insolvency. After a brief engagement with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Continental Hockey League , MacIntyre moved to the German Ice Hockey League for Adler Mannheim in January . In October 2017 MacIntyre received a contract with the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League. In January 2018, the goalkeeper left the team from Lower Bavaria and moved to HKm Zvolen from the Slovakian extra league .
