Andrew McLean Galloway IV (born June 6, 1985 in Ayr , Scotland ), better known by his ring name Drew McIntyre , is a Scottish wrestler who is currently under contract with the WWE and is part of the Raw rooster. His greatest achievement so far is receiving the WWE Championship .

Wrestling career

Independent Leagues (2003-2007)

Drew Galloway fought mostly in Great Britain . He joined British Championship Wrestling on February 20, 2003. Parallel to BCW, he also appeared in many other leagues (e.g. International Pro Wrestling United Kingdom, Irish Whip Wrestling or All Star Wrestling). In Irish Whip Wrestling he met Sheamus . He was twice BCW Heavyweight Champion, once ICW Heavyweight Champion and once IWW International Heavyweight Champion.

World Wrestling Entertainment (2007-2014)

In April 2007, Galloway signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment . On September 26, 2007, he made his debut with Ohio Valley Wrestling , a WWE development league . After the partnership between the WWE and OVW ended, he appeared in Florida Championship Wrestling from March 2008 . Galloway performed there until July 2009 and won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship .

Galloway made his WWE debut on October 12, 2007 on SmackDown as Drew McInytre, mentored by Dave Taylor, defeating Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins a week later . At the end of the year he switched to RAW , but Galloway only played one match against Charlie Haas before he was sent back to OVW and later to FCW.

In August 2009, he returned to SmackDown and initially feuded against R-Truth and was named The Chosen One by WWE President Mr. McMahon . On December 13, 2009, he was at the major event WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs Intercontinental Champion by defeating John Morrison .

On May 7, 2010, he was released from the WWE by Theodore Long after attacking Matt Hardy several times . This also made the Intercontinental Championship vacant . Galloway was awarded the IC title, however, because, according to Mr. McMahon, Theodore Long had wrongly dismissed him. At the major event Over the Limit , he finally had to cede his title to Kofi Kingston . At the big event Night of Champions in the same year he was allowed to win the WWE Tag Team Championship together with "Dashing" Cody Rhodes . On October 24, 2010 they had to surrender the title to The Nexus ( David Otunga and John Cena ) at Bragging Rights .

At the WWE Draft on April 26, 2011, he switched to Raw again, but mainly appeared on WWE Superstars . On December 27, 2011, the SmackDown record, he switched back to the blue fire. After it was not used at all or only sporadically for a long time, it appeared from October 2012 together with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal as "3MB" (Three Man Band). On June 12, 2014, Galloway was released from the WWE.

Return to the Independent Leagues (2014-2017)

On August 8, 2014, he defeated Chris Hero at EVOLVE and won the EVOLVE Championship . On March 28, 2015, he defeated Johnny Gargano and won the Open The Freedom Gate Championship . On July 10, 2015, he lost to Timothy Thatcher and had to surrender both of his titles to him. On March 20, he played a match for the Australian Promotion Outback Championship Wrestling and won the OCW Heavyweight Championship by defeating Andy Phoenix. He lost the title to Mad Dog McCrea on September 11, 2015. On October 16, 2015, he won the European Heavyweight Championship . He had to give up the title after two days as it was impossible for him to defend the title due to scheduling problems. On December 20, 2014 he performed for the Danish promotion Dansk Pro Wrestling and won the DPW Heavyweight Championship from Michael Fynne. He had to give up the title on October 18, 2015 because he was unable to defend the title due to scheduling problems. On November 2, 2014 he performed for the Scottish promotion Insane Championship Wrestling and won the ICW World Heavyweight Championship for the second time from Jack Jester . He lost the title to Grado on November 15, 2015. On April 24, 2015 he appeared at the promotion Scottish Wrestling Alliance and won the Scottish Heavyweight Championship from Doug Williams . He lost the title to Mark Coffey on November 27, 2015. On January 24th, 2016 he appeared again at EVOLVE and together with Johnny Gargano won the EVOLVE Tag Team Championship after they won a tournament to become the first champions. On April 2, 2016 at the EVOLVE 59 iPPV , he and Johnny Gargano lost their titles to Drew Gulak and Tracy Williams. On July 16, 2016, he won the EVOLVE Tag Team Championship with DUSTIN by Drew Gulak and Tracy Williams . They lost the title to Catch Point (Fred Yehi and Tracy Williams) on November 13, 2016. On November 30, 2016, Galloway appeared in the English wrestling league WhatCulture Pro Wrestling and won the WCPW World Championship from Joseph Conners .

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2015-2017)

From January 2015 he appeared for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . Together with Eli Drake and Micah he formed the stable The Rising . On March 15, 2016, he became the first wrestler to successfully redeem his Feast or Fired case and won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Matt Hardy for the first time . He lost the title to Lashley on June 12, 2016 .

He then started a feud against Ethan Carter III . On August 25, 2016, he lost a match to determine the new challenger for TNA World Heavyweight Champion Lashley against Ethan Carter III. After the match he attacked the special guest referee Aron Rex , which started a feud against him. The two took part in the tournament to determine the first Impact Grand Champion. In the first round he eliminated Braxton Sutter and in the semifinals Eddie Edwards . Since he injured himself after winning the semi-finals, he could not play against Aron Rex in the final. The feud did not continue. He made his return at the January 19th edition of Impact Wrestling, recorded on January 7th, and immediately won the Impact Grand Championship from Moose . At the Impact Wrestling edition of March 2, 2017, which was recorded on January 12, 2017, he lost his title again to Mosse.

On February 26, 2017, Galloway announced on Twitter that he had not renewed his contract and had left TNA.

Return to WWE (since 2017)

On April 1, 2017, after the NXT PPV NXT TakeOver: Orlando , Galloway announced in an interview that he had signed a new contract with WWE and will henceforth compete at NXT under his old ring name Drew McIntyre. On April 16, 2018, he switched to Raw. On September 3, 2018, Galloway and his then partner Dolph Ziggler won the Raw Tag Team Championship from The B-Team Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel . This reign lasted 49 days, then they lost the title on October 22, 2018 in a Raw edition against The Shield Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose . Since then he has been playing singles matches .

On 26 January 2020, it was allowed in the Royal Rumble win the Royal Rumble match. On April 5, 2020, he won the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 .
