Jonathan David Good (born December 7, 1985 in Cincinnati , Ohio ), better known under his old ring name Dean Ambrose , is an American wrestler who is currently under contract with All Elite Wrestling and performs under the ring name Jon Moxley . During his tenure at World Wrestling Entertainment , Good rose primarily into the ring as Dean Ambrose . His greatest successes so far are the receipt of the WWE Championship , the AEW World Championship , and the completion of the Grand Slam .

Private life

He has been married to ring commentator and interviewer Renee Paquette (better known as Renee Young) since April 9, 2017 .

Wrestling career

Independent Leagues (2004-2011)

Jonathan Good began his wrestling career with the Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) , where he made his debut under the name Jon Moxley in June 2004. This was followed by engagements at various independent promotions . In 2005, Good teamed up with Jimmy Turner to form the Necessary Roughness Tag Team . With Turner , Good won his first title with the HWA Tag Team Championship. After losing the title, the team split up. Good later formed the Heartland Foundation with Ric Byrne . On August 19, 2005, Good and Byrne defeated Foreign Intelligence and won the HWA Tag Team Championship, but had to surrender the title on the same day.

On May 10, 2006, Good was able to defeat HWA Superstar Pepper Parks and was named HWA Heavyweight Champion for the first time. Four months later he lost the title to Chad Collyer, but was able to regain it again on December 30, 2006 with a win against Pepper Parks. Just three days later, Good had to hand over the title to "Buffalo Bad Boy" Brian Jennings.

Together with his former coach Cody Hawk, Good formed a tag team again. In June 2007 the two wrestlers held the HWA Tag Team Championship for a few days. In mid-2007 Goods wrestling career stalled temporarily, but until 2010 he was to hold the HWA Tag Team Championship two more times as Royal Violence together with King Vu. During his reign as one half of the HWA Tag Team Champions, Good won the Heavyweight Championship for a third time on January 6, 2010, which he successfully defended until July 14, 2010.

At the CZW 11th Anniversary Show on February 13, 2010, Good defeated his opponent B-Boy and won the CZW World Heavyweight Championship. On August 7, 2010, Good had to surrender the title to Nick Gage after losing in an Ultraviolent Three Way Dance . On August 14, 2010, Good was able to win the title again by defeating Nick Gage and Egotistico Fantastico in a Three Way Dance . At CZW - TWELVE (12th Anniversary Show) on February 12, 2011 Good lost to his opponent "The Ego" Robert Anthony and had to give up the CZW World Heavyweight Championship again.

From late 2009 to early 2011, Good entered the ring at the wrestling promotion Dragon Gate USA . On March 27, 2010, he made his pay-per-view debut with a hardcore match against Tommy Dreamer , which Good won.

In Full Impact Pro , Good won the vacant FIP ​​World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Roderick Strong on April 17, 2010. Together with Hade Vansen, Good won the IWA World Tag Team Championship of the International Wrestling Association . World Wrestling Entertainment (2011-2019)

Florida Championship Wrestling (2011-2012)

In early April 2011 it was confirmed that Good had signed a development contract with WWE . In July of the same year he made his debut in the WWE Development League Florida Championship Wrestling under the ring name Dean Ambrose . Good quickly gained a relatively high profile through feuds with Seth Rollins and William Regal .

The Shield (2012-2014)

On November 18, 2012, Good made his debut alongside Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as The Shield in the Survivor Series , when the newly formed Stable intervened on behalf of CM Punk in his WWE Championship match against Ryback and John Cena . This was followed by a six-man TLC match at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs , in which The Shield won against Ryback and the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No ( Daniel Bryan and Kane ). In the following months, the stable played more six-man tag team matches against John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus at Elimination Chamber and against Sheamus, Randy Orton and Big Show at WrestleMania 29, which could each be won. The Shield claims to have fought against injustice and regularly attacked renowned wrestlers like The Rock .

At Extreme Rules on May 19, 2013, Good secured the WWE United States Championship by defeating Kofi Kingston . In the May 5, 2014 Raw episode, Good had to surrender his title to Sheamus after 351 days of reign after the Irishman prevailed in a 20 Man Battle Royal .

Feud against Rollins and WWE World Champion (2014-2016)

On June 2, 2014, The Shield split after Seth Rollins attacked Good and Roman Reigns from behind and joined the Authority. Good and Rollins subsequently denied a feud.

At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs on December 13, 2015, Good received the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Kevin Owens . To this he lost the title again on February 15, 2016 on Raw.

On June 20, 2016, Good won the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match at Money in the Bank against Chris Jericho , Alberto del Rio , Sami Zayn , Kevin Owens and Cesaro, and thus received a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship . That same evening he redeemed his contract to get the match for the title and played this against Seth Rollins, who had won the title minutes earlier from Roman Reigns. On January 3, 2017 at SmackDown, Good defeated The Miz to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship for the second time. At the Superstar Shake-up on April 10th, he switched to Raw with the title. On June 4, 2017 at Extreme Rules , he lost his title to The Miz, who had also switched to Raw. At SummerSlam on August 20, 2017, Good and his former Shield colleague Seth Rollins won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship in a match against The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro). To this they lost the title again on November 6, 2017 on Raw. Good and Seth Rollins won the Raw Tag Team Championship again from Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in a match on October 22, 2018 .
