The FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship was the main title of the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) promotional wrestling title . The promotion was the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) development league. Like all titles in wrestling, the title was awarded as part of a storyline.
background
The title was introduced on February 15, 2008 and awarded to the winner of a 23-man battle royale . Jake Hager became the first champion. Two months later, on March 22, 2008, he was allowed to defeat the reigning FCW Southern Heavyweight Champion Heath Miller , thus combining both titles.
The title will remain the main title of the doctorate until August 12, 2012. In the course of a rebranding, however, FCW was renamed to WWE NXT and the title was thus discontinued. The last title holder was Richie Steamboat . The title was subsequently replaced by the NXT Championship .
