Barri Griffiths (born January 13, 1982 in Porthmadog, Wales ), better known by his current ring name Mason Ryan , is a Welsh wrestler . He was under contract with WWE until early 2014 .
Career
Beginnings / Independent
Griffiths was trained by Orig Williams . In 2007 he made his debut as a Celtic Warrior at All Star Wrestling in England . This was followed by engagements at various independent promotions (e.g. Union Of European Wrestling Alliances or International Pro Wrestling United Kingdom ). In November 2009 Griffiths appeared in the German promotion European Professional Wrestling .
WWE
Florida Championship Wrestling
In late 2009, Griffiths signed a development contract with the WWE and was first used in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where he made his debut on March 25, 2010 as Mason Ryan . On July 22, 2010 , he won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship from Alex Riley . On February 3, 2011, he gave the title to Bo Rotundo .
RAW
After appearing on some WWE house shows in late 2010 , he first appeared on RAW on January 17, 2011, attacking CM Punk and John Cena . On the same day, Griffiths Punks joined the stable The New Nexus . He was a member there until an injury in June 2011. At the end of April 2014, he was released from the WWE in a wave of layoffs.
